What I’ve Learned In One Minute…Hi Friends, I’ve come to realise that you will experience the hardest tests of your fortitude after you make commitments to be better. Since last week when I made a big personal revelation, I would say these last couple days have been anything but easy. And I’ve come to appreciate the beauty in that. When you tell yourself you are the most ready to commit to being a better you, when you finally get the answer you’ve been praying for, it’s almost as if it is fate for these juxtaposed events to happen right after the other. The dramatic failure right after the success. Even though events like this happen, I think what’s more important is what it reminds you of when it does. How much you’ve changed or grown, and whether you’ve acted differently to the situation compared to your past self. That is the true sign of commitment to the goal you set to make for yourself. We can always rise to our dreams but we will always fall to our standards and systems. It’s critical that you show up in these moments. Because your growth isn’t shown in moments when you succeed, it’s shown in how you react to the moments when you fail. Life Update I had my university supervisor come in today, what an amazing turnout indeed. Giving me the opportunity to reflect and appreciate how much time has passed in my placement but also seeing where I was compared to where I am and I’m able to appreciate the growth more than I thought. This is your sign to check on your progress for the year. TL;DRThe hardest tests come right after you commit to being better. That's not a coincidence, that's the process. Growth isn't measured in your best moments. It's measured in how you show up in the worst ones. WINS & LESSONSWin:

What I’ve Learned In One Minute… Hi Friend, I've realised that advice is neither good nor bad. It's only relative to the listener's experience at that time. Going to a wedding this past weekend really helped me appreciate that. I watched this amazing young couple prepare to spend the rest of their lives together. Two people who were clearly best friends, choosing each other in front of everyone they loved. And in that moment, nobody in that room would have said, "You shouldn't be doing this....
What I’ve Learned In One Minute… Hi Reader, I’ve been thinking a lot about Parkinson’s Law, what it can and can’t do and I wanted to share that with you today and what I took away about it from working in engineering for the past 9 months. What Parkinson’s Law Can and Can’t Do The older I get, the more I notice that the wisest people in the room are usually the ones who can tell you, pretty accurately, how long something is going to take. I think Parkinson’s Law has something to do with that....
What I’ve Learned In One Minute… Hi Friends, This week has been quite strange in terms of what I've been learning and figuring out. It's definitely been a week of ups and downs, but also a time of reflection, learning and understanding where distraction comes from and where capability comes from. I've decided to split it into three of the biggest things. Job versus Career The difference between a job and a career showed itself very clearly to me this week, specifically in the way people carry...
